Days 3 – 6
Maasai Mara · The Heartland
A light aircraft lands on a grass strip. For four days: cheetahs hunting at first light, a siesta back at camp at noon, a raised glass beneath the acacias at dusk. On the fifth morning, the balloon goes up.
Days 7 – 10
Serengeti · The Crossing Points
Across the border, to a camp twenty minutes from the Mara River crossings. Your guide reads the herds’ unrest, and brings you to the right bank at the right moment.
Days 11 – 12
Ngorongoro · Farewell
You wake at the crater’s rim with the clouds below you. After one last drive, the flight back to Arusha — your luggage carrying a fine layer of red dust, and a great many quiet moments.
