Aurora & Fjords

Aurora & Fjords

Aurora & Fjords

10 days · 8 – 10 travellers · Three departures, December — February

The Essence

Live in a sea-edge cabin in Lofoten, and let the aurora alarm replace your morning one.

About this Journey

The worst way to chase the aurora is to chase it. We do the opposite: ten days, two addresses only, and let the lights come to you. Both cabins sit in the deep-blue zone of the light-pollution map.

The Rhythm

The days are short, so we make them rich: snowshoes, fjord boats, fishing-village cafés. The nights belong to the sky.

The Journey

Chapters of the Journey

Days 1 – 2

Oslo · The Buffer

A harbour-side hotel, Munch and Vigeland, one new-Nordic dinner. Leave the hurry at the airport.

Days 3 – 6

Lofoten · The Cabin

A red fisherman’s cabin turned sea-edge lodge, glass wall facing north. Days on the fjord with the sea eagles, afternoons in the village bakery, nights kept for the sky — when the lights appear, the steward knocks.

Days 7 – 9

Tromsø · The Aurora Camp

North of the circle, into glass-roofed cabins. Watching the aurora from bed is an over-marketed experience — until the moment you actually lie down.

Day 10

Homeward

You leave with three hundred photographs you cannot delete, and a self that has learned to wait.
