Bespoke travel is a curious trade: what clients entrust to us is not merely a fee, but a stretch of unrepeatable life — a child’s holiday, the years in which parents still walk easily, a wedding, a farewell. Enthusiasm cannot carry that weight. Only certainty can.
At SOJOURN, certainty is managed as the first deliverable. It has three sources, and we keep them in plain sight.
First, we work directly with Trip.com’s tailor-made travel platform, as one of its strictly vetted operators. We chose to stand beside a major platform not for the title, but to give you a safeguard independent of us: itineraries and funds under platform rules and oversight — so that if anything goes wrong, behind you stands a mature mechanism, not merely one company’s apology.
Second, the certainty of people. Trip.com’s academy established China’s certification system for travel designers — examined, licensed, graded. All of our senior designers hold the certification, each with more than ten years in the craft. Ten years means having seen enough diverted flights, strikes, storms and sudden closures; it means that behind every calm line of your itinerary, a Plan B has already been thought through.
Third, certainty on paper. Every key element — flights, houses, guides, entrances — reaches you as written confirmations before departure. We have a saying in the house: romance may be left open; obligations may not.
A client once said choosing us felt like choosing an old bank: not for surprises, but because it never requires worry. We take that as the highest compliment — only when certainty retreats fully backstage can the journey itself step forward.
